Communication and Privacy Policy

At Resilient Mind Counseling and Coaching, PLLC, we prioritize your confidentiality and well-being. Effective communication is essential for a successful therapeutic relationship. Please review the guidelines below regarding our communication practices:

Phone Communication:

  • Scheduling and Appointment Reminders: Our phone line may be used for scheduling appointments, sending reminders, and discussing logistical aspects of your therapy sessions.

  • 15-minute Consultations: The business line is open for scheduled free, 15-minute consultations. Each potential client may receive no more than one consultation and the therapist may end the call before or after 15-minutes at their discretion. If you call the line for a consultation and it is not scheduled, your therapist may not be able to answer or talk to you for 15 minutes. Please schedule a call before calling.

  • Urgent or Emergency Situations: In urgent or emergency situations, our phone line should not be used. This is not an emergency line. Instead, contact 911 or any of the other appropriate crisis numbers listed in the resources page of our website or on your computer search engine. If you wish to leave your therapist a message about a past crisis as an update, please do so through confidential means, such as a patient portal. Approach leaving any sensitive information with caution and care.

Email/Text Communication:

  • Appointment Scheduling and Information: Email/Text may be used for non-urgent communication related to scheduling appointments, providing session information, or exchanging necessary documents.

  • Confidentiality Disclaimer: Please be aware that while we take every precaution to maintain confidentiality, email/text communication may not be completely secure. We advise against sharing sensitive or detailed personal information via email/text for your privacy protection.

Appropriate Use of Communication Platforms:

  • Professional Communication Only: Our communication channels (phone, email) are intended solely for professional interactions related to your therapy sessions. We kindly request refraining from using these platforms for personal or non-therapy related discussions.

  • Respectful Interactions: Mutual respect and professionalism are expected in all forms of communication. Any form of communication that is disrespectful, offensive, or breaches professional boundaries will not be tolerated.

Privacy and Confidentiality:

  • Confidentiality Assurance: All communications, whether via phone or email, are treated with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Third-Party Involvement: To maintain your confidentiality, we ask that you do not involve third parties in our communication without prior consent, except in emergency situations.

  • A note about privacy for local in-person clients: If you see your therapist out in public, they will not acknowledge you due to privacy laws. If you would like to approach your therapist first and greet them, you are welcome to do so but please consider what is most comfortable for you and your confidentiality.

Communication Response Time:

  • Office Hours: Our team endeavors to respond to non-urgent communication within 24 hours during regular office hours.

  • Emergency Response: Urgent communications will be addressed as promptly as possible should they arise, however, as a reminder, lines of communication at Resilient Mind Counseling and Coaching, PLLC are not for emergencies and should not be treated as such.
